Law Enforcement Association Supports Trent Staggs for Riverton Mayor
Riverton, UT –
It is with great pride that the Salt Lake Valley Law Enforcement Association announces our endorsement for Trent Staggs for Riverton City Mayor. This endorsement is a result of a vote by our members in the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake and the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office.
“We feel that Trent has demonstrated that he is a great advocate for law-enforcement. During his tenure on the Unified Police Departments Board of Governance, Trent has shown his concern for the members of the Unified Police Department and their mission to keep our communities safe.
Trent has demonstrated this same high level of concern in his role as Riverton City Councilman.
Trent has improved health benefits for officers, helped create a death benefit in the event that an officer is killed in the line of duty. Trent has been instrumental in increasing the pay and benefits for officers. All of this was done with an increase of only 2 to 3% of the budget.
Trent has been a leader in Riverton city, sponsoring two resolutions in support of law-enforcement and the Unified Police Department. He recognizes the importance community leaders have in their role to advocate on behalf of law-enforcement. He took swift action to do so, after the tragedies in Dallas last year, when the tone in some parts of the country turned so negative against law-enforcement.
We wholeheartedly support Trent for Mayor of Riverton City, and ask that you join us in our support. We have no doubt Trent will be a truly great Mayor.
